BIO
Frances Rompas is a visual artist, filmmaker, and interdisciplinary researcher. Using environmental sciences, ancestral history, academic theory and narrative exploration to make elaborate video works, films and sculptural environments with an essayistic yet poetic nature.
Supported by Mondriaan Fund, K.F. Hein Fund, and Creative Industries Fund NL, her work has been presented at venues including Prospects at Art Rotterdam and Teylers Museum, alongside commissioned video projects for cultural institutions such as Museum De Lakenhal, and purpose-driven collaborations with environmental organisations.
